THE MISSION

GAMETYME FOUNDATION’s mission is to motivate, encourage, and inspire disenfranchised youth to have great faith in God, dream big, and work hard while providing them with assistance that allows them to perform better and stay in school.

We believe that everyone can score Big in life! Help us inspire the youth with The Big Assist.

It’s GAMETYME.

ABOUT GAMETYME

GAMETYME FOUNDATION, founded in 2000 by Executive Director, Jay Johnson, is a federally registered 501(c)(3) organization that has helped thousands of children and families, by providing food and personal care items along with motivational appearances from NBA heavyweights and MVP’s like Keyon Dooling (GAMETYME Ambassador and NBA Retiree), Kevin Garnett (Minnesota Timberwolves), Alex Len (Phoenix Suns), Trevor Ariza (Houston Rockets), Dhantay Jones (Los Angeles Clippers), Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Clippers), Avery Bradley (Boston Celtics), Brandon Jennings (Detroit Pistons), Brandon Bass (Los Angeles Lakers) and many more.

GAMETYME FOUNDATION’s Executive Director and Founder, Jay Johnson, knows personally the struggles of the students and families The Big Assist Program serves. As a high school dropout living below poverty level, he learned the value of faith, hard work and perseverance after his persistence landed him a job as a ball boy for the Houston Rockets in ’93-’94, the same year the team won the World Championship. Observing the work ethic of the champion athletes he served and hearing their transformational stories motivated Johnson to want better for his life. Johnson returned to complete his education, earning his GED, and continued to work closely with athletes. After witnessing his own transformation he wanted to inspire others to do the same.

In 2000, Jay Johnson developed the GAMETYME organization by selling and donating partial proceeds of branded wristbands with the GAMETYME (God Answers Me Every TYME) FOUNDATION logo. The organization continues to expand with the generous assistance of donors and MVPs, and serves communities across the United States through The Big Assist Program.

The GAMETYME FOUNDATION’s logo has special meaning and is spelled with a “Y” to represent our outstretched arms in gratitude for God’s faithfulness to His Word.

We are blessed to be a blessing and God’s word promises that anything we ask according to His will He will grant it to us…(1 John 5:14-15)
